Through the Community Impact Funds, our programming and development are guided by active community leaders and students, allowing us to focus on the community's most pressing needs. By listening to those directly affected, we design programs that address both everyday challenges and emerging issues across New Jersey.

Our work provides hands-on, relevant solutions that help combat disparities in urban education and resource deserts, ensuring communities have access to the support, opportunities, and tools they need to thrive.

    Johanna     is a longstanding educator with Elizabeth Public Schools and serves as a dedicated Board Member of the House of Hearts Network. Bringing years of experience in education and community engagement, she plays a vital role in programming development and executive strategic planning.

    Johanna is committed to creating impactful, community-centered initiatives that expand educational opportunities and strengthen support systems for students and families throughout New Jersey. Her leadership helps ensure the organization's programs remain innovative, responsive to community needs, and aligned with its long-term mission of advancing educational equity and community empowerment

  • Susan Berube

    Fund Co-Chair | House of Hearts Network

    Susan Berube serves as Deputy Chief of Staff for the House of Hearts Network Foundation, supporting executive leadership through strategic coordination, communications, and organizational planning. A Communications student at Kean University with an emphasis in journalism and community affairs, Susan is passionate about community engagement and advancing the Foundation's mission through effective communication and collaborative leadership.

    Susan also serves as program supervisor for the Foundations Future Leaders Fellowship Program overseeing the largest programming of the foundation.
